The Teinture Francaise colour lightener by Saphir (500ml) gives a lighter shade to dyes made for leather, nubuck and suede. The Saphir base lightener is mixed with other dyes when they are too dark in colour. This Saphir Teinture Francaise leather dye puts you in total control of the shade of dye that you wish to apply to your leather objects and opens up an infinite number of options for personalising your dye. The possibilities are endless whether you wish to dye a sofa, a pair of shoes, a bag or any other accessory made of leather. Use this dye only on leather that has been cleaned with a leather cleaner, or that has had its colour removed so that you don't have to clean it again. Remember that the Saphir Teinture Francaise functions solely as a colour lightener and should therefore never be applied to leather as is. It is meant to be mixed with other leather dyes that are too dark. Make sure that you are in a well-ventilated area and test the dye mixture on a hidden area to ensure that it reacts well with the leather. This is a very important step since leather varies widely from one item to another and thus reacts differently according to the dye used. Apply a first coat of dye over the entire leather surface and allow to dry for at least one hour to obtain the true colour result. If the colour is not intense enough after an hour, do not hesitate to add additional coats of the dye, but be mindful of the one-hour drying time required after each coat. Opt for a neutral shoe cream if you only want to nourish the leather, or a tinted shoe cream to add more depth to the colour applied to the leather. Store your Saphir Teinture Francaise shoe dye away from sources of heat and remember to tightly close the bottle cap to maximise the product's shelf life.
