With a short reach, four degrees of sweep and twelve degrees of flare on the drops, the WCS EvoMax is a little different from standard drop bars. The increased drop flare gives a little more leverage which helps with precision when cornering and the shorter reach keeps you more upright when on the hoods. Some would say that leads to a less aerodynamic position but the benefit in terms of comfort and control is a worthwile trade-off for many riders. Arguably, the WCS EvoMax are designed for bikes built for off-road but they are a versatile choice for all sorts of riding. Gravel bikes, drop bar mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes and sportive road bikes would all be well suited to the shape of the bars. The Ritchey WCS EvoMax is made out of aluminium and comes in 40, 42, 44 and 46 cm widths.
